Vaccines:-
A vaccine is a biological preparation that improves immunity to
a particular disease. A vaccine typically
contains an agent that resembles a disease-causing microorganism and is often
made from weakened or killed forms of the microbe, its toxins or one of its
surface proteins. The agent stimulates the body's immune system to
recognize the agent as foreign, destroy it, and keep a record of it, so that
the immune system can more easily recognize and destroy any of these
microorganisms that it later encounters.
For ex, Herpes, AIDS
Hormones:-
Hormones are biochemical messenger of a body that regulate
body function. A hormone is a
class of regulatory biochemical produced in particular parts of organisms by
specific cells, glands, and/or tissues and then transported by the bloodstream
to other parts of the body, with the intent of influencing a variety of
physiological and behavioral activities
Tissue plasminogen activator:-
Tissue
plasminogen activator is a protein involved in the breakdown of blood clots. It is a serine protease found on endothelial cells, the cells that line
the blood vessels. As an enzyme, it catalyzes the conversion of
plasminogen to plasmin, the major enzyme responsible for clot breakdown.
Because it works on the clotting
system. tPA is used in clinical
medicine to treat embolic or thrombotic stroke.
tPA may be manufactured using recombinant biotechnology techniques.
tPA created this way may be referred to as recombinant
tissue plasminogen activator (rtPA).
